Product Description

This is the handout to give students. It has the descriptions of all the roles and the requirements for the assignment.

I made up some scenarios and had them draw from a hat. Scenarios included:

"In line at a grocery store"

"helping an elderly person cross a street"

"meeting the parents of a significant other"

"tryouts for a team"

This is a fun way to start the unit and introduce students to the language they'll encounter. If you google Elizabethan English Dictionary, you can find something to print out for students. If you search for Shakespearean insults, you'll get some fun terms. I gave this out on Thursday, because when I gave it our Monday the first time I taught this, every skit was just a bunch of insults. Thursday gives them enough time to add in insults, rather than base their entire performance on them.
