Romeo and Juliet Act IV Word Detective Word Attack
Here are three separate vocabulary activities for Act 3 of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. In these activities, students act as vocabulary detectives and use their word attack skills to determine the meaning of each new word in context. First students read actual passages and dialogues from the play and use contextual clues to determine the meaning and part of speech of each new word. They must provide at least one synonym for each new word. Then they use a thesaurus or dictionary to check their comprehension and find more synonyms for each word. There are also bonus questions which relate to figurative language and word usage. Answer sheets are included.
Again there are three different Word Detective with answer sheets for in this packet,
1) Act IV Scenes 1
2) Act IV Scenes 2+3
3) Act IV Scenes 4+5
Your kids will enjoy these Word Detective activities and also enhance their vocabulary and word attack skills.
