This is a group activity that challenges students to make decisions in regard to a favorite scene from Romeo and Juliet, to decide upon a representative snap shot of the scene and to choose appropriate text from the scene. It also requires minor computer searches to understand the layout of the Globe (stage, audience, structure).
I usually put students into small groups and give them this hand out which explains the project. Scenes are suggested, however, they may choose any other scene that they particularly loved or enjoyed.
I have really had some wonderful projects come out of this assignment and I have found that in any group of 3 students there is one particularly adept at art-though I make it clear that artistic talent (or lack thereof) does not influence the grade.
