Tired of the traditional essay? This is the assessment for you! Instead of writing an essay, students will follow the structure (intro, reasons, textual evidence, and addressing counterclaims) but, instead, use it in the form of a debate with different rounds for each reason. Montague vs. Capulet style!
For this final assessment, I give students two full days in class to construct and perfect their arguments and one day to debate!
