Product Description
This play was originally written as a faculty skit for a school talent show. It proved so popular that I reworked it for use in class as an introduction to the play Romeo and Juliet. I’ve used it that way for many years with great success. In just about 20 minutes the students get the entire plot of the play with all the right characters and motivations. The hillbilly dialect, which they stumble over, gives them confidence that they’ll also be able to pick up Shakespeare’s language. I used this play as a workshop event for a class I taught for the state of Indiana on “How to bring Shakespeare Alive into the classroom.” It also was received with great enthusiasm and it is now being used in schools far and wide.
