Want to teach Symbolism to you students in a fun way? This is the activity you need!
Grab some white icing, cool colorful sprinkles, and food coloring! Students have to make a recipe for their 'love potion' where each ingredient represents some part of Romeo and Juliet's love. After they have cited their textual evidence for their colors and sprinkle options and explained their evidence, they get to make their potion! And EAT it! You can refer back to this activity ALL YEAR when students have any confusion about symbolism!
Make sure you get some really neat sprinkles- dinosaurs, different colors, rocket ships, puppies, ect. You won't believe the things they come up with that make total sense!
Message me if you need any help with the implementation of this fun lesson!
