Very simple reading guide for Romeo and Juliet
Based on the Signet Classics version: ISBN 978-0-451-52686-1
This is a PowerPoint (40 slides) and print-out packet for students (12pgs in docx format to allow teachers to edit questions at their discretion).
The packet questions match the PPT. I have students come up and write the answers on the board below each question on the PPT. We discuss each answer then students write them down in their packets.
I allow students to use the packets for the last 5 minutes of the exam.
Answers to each question are in the "Notes" below each slide.
Most questions are fairly simple and may be answered with a word or a name. Some questions require more extended responses, but nothing more than a paragraph.
A couple questions are a little tricky and require students to compare the events in the book to their own lives; ex: When Romeo is moping around in the beginning and shutting daylight out of his room - Is this still typical behavior for a love-sick teenager?
I have kept the PPT and packet very simple and clean, stylistically, to allow more space for students to write their answers on the board.
