This mini script is an adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, with scenes from Acts I and II. It involves the interactions of several characters at the masked ball, and also the balcony scene. The words all belong to Shakespeare. I have edited the scenes to include the lines that are easiest for children to speak and understand while still getting the storyline across. A brief synopsis of the play is included to give the context for the scenes in the script. Performance time is about seven minutes. The cast consists of eight characters plus a few non-speaking extras.
Enjoy having your students read the script aloud...or perform it in a program! Check out the preview!
This mini script is geared for 3rd-5th graders but could be used with middle and high school students as well.
