Product Description

This is a discussion based activity that should be completed after students have completed Romeo and Juliet. Students read the introduction and a summary of the conclusion to Arthur Brooke's The Tragicall Historye of Romeus and Juliet, with the focus on the following questions:

  • What changes did Shakespeare make when he transformed the source material?
  • What was the purpose of the transformation (What effect did it have on the story? What effect did it have on the audience?)

File is a PPT so that teachers may customize to fit their classroom needs.

Note: As of 3/30/19, I'm working on a file on FSA Reading test prep that heavily focuses on LAFS.910.RL3.7 and LAFS.910.RL.3.9. This file will be part of the bundle.
