This is a great lesson if you do not have a kiln in your art room and are looking to incorporate some 3-dimensional work into your curriculum. Students will learn about the life and artwork of Brazilian artist Romero Britto, specifically his monument paying tribute to the King Tutankhamen exhibit returning to London, England. Students will create a 3-dimensional paper pyramid using tagboard paper, pencils and colored sharpie markers. This lesson incorporates the elements and principals of art, along with art history (Egyptian art). This lesson was written for third grade but can be easily adapted for younger or older grades.
