This 49 page activity pack is perfect for speech or language therapy. The activities included are perfect for speech and language intervention, literacy circles and whole group activities.
Story Sequencing Pictures: (pages 4-5) Print, cut, and laminate. These pictures can be used during the story for visual, or after you have read the story for retelling and sequencing.
Ordinal Numbers: Give each student a copy of pages 6 & 7. Have your students sequence the events from the story.
Comprehension questions & retelling mat: Print, cut, and laminate. Place Velcro in each square (page 9). Cut up comprehension cards (pages 10-12) and attach to page 9. (Use either the two , three answer choices or just questions.) As students answer questions correctly they remove the card to reveal parts of the picture. Once all the cards have been removed students will use the retelling mat to retell the story.
Yes/No questions: (page 13)
Barrier Game: (1 Barrier Scene, 9 interactive pieces) Set Up: Set up the barrier game so that each child has a work space across from each other. Place a blank file folder or another divider between the two students so they can’t see each other’s work space. Every player should have the same set of materials in front of them.To Play: The students take turns giving the other player specific directions on where to place the materials in front of them. The goal of the game is to have all the players’ materials look the same at the end of the activity.
P.14-15 includes sentence strips.
Preposition Matching Game: (pages 16-19) Lay cards face down on the table. Have your students take turns flipping the cards over to find matches. There are 12 question cards (ex. Where is the cat?) and 12 answer cards (ex. The cat is on the table).
Antonym Matching Game: (pages 20-23) Lay cards face down on the table. Have your students take turns flipping the cards over to find matches. (24 cards)
Synonym Matching Game: (pages 24-26) Lay cards face down on the table. Have your students take turns flipping the cards over to find matches. (16 cards+2 make your own)
Bubble and Boil Rhyming Game: Give each student a mat (page 27). Student’s take turns drawing a card and providing a rhyming word for the word on their card. Watch out for the special cards. The first student to collect all the ingredients is the winner.
Describing Worksheets: (Pages 34-36) Give each student a worksheet. Using a pencil and paperclip create a spinner to use on the spider at the top of the page. Have your students spin to determine what they will write first on the line to describe the pictured objects.
Describe Me Worksheet: (page 37) Choose one word from the word bank to describe each pictured object. Write the word you choose on the line next to the picture.
Design A Witch: (page 38) Draw a picture of a witch and write four words to describe her.
Scrambled Sentences: (pages 39-40) Print, cut, and laminate. Have your students arrange the words into the correct order to form a sentence. (5 sentences)
Verb Tense: (pages 41-42). Have your students fill in the blank with the correct verb form indicated on each card. (12 cards)
