Perfect activity for Literacy Centers!!

There are 6 pages. Each has 3 root words, or prefixes, and their matching card with the meaning.

First, you might teach all the roots and affixes, which I include a list.
The students can write them down in a dictionary journal, for personal use.

After the student matches the words with their meanings correctly (they can check by using their premade dictionary journal), they can also write down words that contain that word part in it. Or, from their Independent Reading book, they can search for words with the same word parts as the card game has.

The 6 pages just need to be printed out, and maybe glue to construction paper, or laminate the printer paper.
The 7th page is the answer sheet.

Common Core Standards:
Use common, grade-appropriate Greek and Latin affixes
and roots as clues to the meaning of a word (e.g., telegraph,
photograph, autograph).

Thanks so much!
