Recognizing root words, prefixes, and suffixes can help developing readers to determine the meaning of new words and phrases. These hands-on task cards are a helpful way to review and reinforce root words and affixes as students expand their vocabularies. Print and laminate this set of clip cards to use in reading centers, early finisher activities, morning work, exit tickets, or review games!

Students read the question on each card and indicate their answer choice with a clothespin, paper clip, or dry erase marker. Then, they flip the card over to check if they are correct!
