Your students can practice finding the main idea and supporting details of a text with this engaging Close Reading and Craftivity all about American hero Rosa Parks. Great activity for Black History Month or Women's History Month.
Students will do a close reading of the passage where they can annotate the text to help them identify the main idea and details. They will then get to do a craftivity where they make the iconic Rosa Parks bus. Students write the main idea and details, illustrate/color the passengers riding in each of the windows, and assemble the bus by cutting and pasting.
