Rose Garden Addition Game
For best results, print the cards on cardstock and laminate.
How to Play:
Stack the cards face down. Each player will take a turn drawing a card from the deck. Students will solve the addition equation on the card. They will record their addition equation on the tracking sheet and can record their sum directly onto the laminated card (with a dry erase marker). If the player draws a THORN Card, they must return all of their cards and start again. The player with the most cards in the end wins.
Common Core Standards:
Represent addition and subtraction with objects, fingers, mental images, drawings1, sounds (e.g., claps), acting out situations, verbal explanations, expressions, or equations.
For any number from 1 to 9, find the number that makes 10 when added to the given number, e.g., by using objects or drawings, and record the answer with a drawing or equation.
