This animated PowerPoint presentation is a lesson on rotation symmetry. It defines center point, rotation around the center point, and rotation symmetry. It then shows an animation of a regular hexagon being rotated and shows how to find the turn angles where a hexagon has rotation symmetry. It also includes an example of a non polygon with rotation symmetry. Following the instruction, there are two guided practice questions with illustrated answers. The presentation concludes with three independent practice questions. The final slides include a student worksheet for recording answers and an answer key for the teacher's use.
I have designed this presentation so that a student can view it and learn from it independently. It would work well for homework in a flipped classroom setting, homeschooling use, independent learning at a computer station, or concept review. This presentation is also suited for direct instruction.
