Product Description
Students will discover the rules associated with transformations by rotations of triangles and polygons on a coordinate grid (part of standard 8.G.3.)
The activity is started off by using a cut-out manipulative to physically rotate the quadrant in which the shape is located. Students will record the transformed coordinates and write down any patterns that they notice from the original coordinates to the transformed coordinates. As a class, rules will be established. Students will then complete 3 practice problems.
