These games are super easy to play and your students will love the adorable. Great for use in language centers or after a guide reading lesson!
How to play Apple Picking:
Spread the apple word cards on the ground face up. One player or the teacher is the caller. The caller reads a word from the "apple wagon" cards. The rest of the players race to find the word and slap it with a fly swatter or their hand. The player that collects the most cards at the end of the game is the winner.
How to play Rotten Apples:
Place all the cards face down in a pile or in a bag, including the number of “Rotten Apple” cards. Players take turns flipping (or pulling) cards. If the player can read the word, he/she can keep it. If the player doesn't know the word is he/she places it back in the pile/bag. If the player pulls a “Rotten Apple” card he/she must put all of his/her cards back into the pile/bag.
The cards could also be used to play "Go Fish" or "Memory"
Blank cards are also included so you can add your own words. Over 100 first grade level words are included. Both color and black and white cards are included.
