Welcome to Round-o-War! A simple way to practice rounding to the nearest tens, hundreds, and thousands! There are three different game boards attached. Print the board targeting the desired level of tens, hundreds, or thousands. I used Legal Size paper to make sure the boards were long enough for playing cards. You may print the attached numbers or use playing cards (whichever you would prefer). I would recommend laminating boards and printed cards prior to playing. Students can then keep score using whiteboard markers. This game is similar to the traditional game of “war.” Each player must put down either two, three, four, or more cards (depending on your preference). Then students round to the chosen place. The player with the higher number wins that round! It is a fun activity that my students love. It allows them to review their skills while playing with their peers. It is also differentiated to meet the needs of all learners who require practice in different levels of rounding. I hope your students enjoy playing this during centers or instructional time!
