Tired of the same old task cards? Are you trying a new blended classroom? Need help integrating technology into math? May be your school is moving to one-to-one devices... Here is a chance to integrate technology and still provide a rigorous problem solving activity!
This download comes with directions on how to take my interactive lesson (which is shared via a link in the directions) and share it with your students. This lesson can be shared on Google Classroom or you can share it as a link on classroom websites such as Edmodo.
The interactive lesson is on Google Slides. Students can improve computer skills while being fully engaged in the math lesson. No copies or paper needed!
The lesson contains 14 slides and many problem solving experiences.
Slide 1- Title, students put their names
Slide 2 - Place Value- students click and drag place value names to proper place
Slide 3 - Create a number- students will click on a link to a spinner. They will spin the spinner 6 times and record the numbers. Then they will take those 6 numbers and create the biggest number possible and the smallest number possible.
Slide 4- Who does the alligator want to eat? Comparing numbers
Slide 5- Ordering decimals from greatest to least and least to greatest
Slide 6- Rounding- Round each decimal to the nearest whole, tenth and hundredth
Slide 7- Expanded Notation- students create the expanded notation of a decimal given
Slides 8-10 Problem Solving- Students will have guided problem solving with word problems. These are open ended.
Slide 11-13 Test Prep- multiple choice questions and explain your thinking.
Slide 14- Ending and how to share with your teacher
I also include another link for an answer key. This would be perfect as a partner activity, independent activity, enrichment, or review before STAAR!
