This lesson can be used as a wrap-up activity to further assess the students’ knowledge on the essential skill of rounding. The Students will play a rounding game called “Three in a Row". Students will be paired up, each of them will get one game board and one set of cards per pair. The first player will pick 2 cards from the deck. He or she will then round each chosen number and find the sum of the rounded numbers. He or she will place a marker over the sum on the grid on their game board. The players will need to show their rounding of sums on a separate sheet of paper and they will also need to show how to come up with the non-estimated sum, as well. After the first player places their marker, it is the second player’s turn, who will go through the same process as player one has. The players cannot place their markers in the same space on the board. The first player to have three markers in a row is the winner.
