Use this fun & easy game with students to help practice rounding skills! This document includes 36 cards (10 place value cards, 26 number cards) for students to practice rounding. Children must draw a number card, as well as a place value card each turn. The place value card will direct students as to which place value they should round their number to.
Preparation: Copy onto two different colors of cardstock and cut apart to create sets. Each set should include place value cards in one color and number cards in a different color.
Directions: Students can complete this activity individually, in pairs, or small groups. Students take turns pulling two cards (one place value, one number) at a time, then round their drawn number to appropriate place value. To make this activity into a game, students can give themselves points for each number rounded correctly. To make it a competitive version, students can earn points against a partner(s) for having the greatest rounded answer.
