The Rounding Pocket Chart is a hands-on math tool used to introduce the rounding of whole numbers in the primary grades and/or rational numbers including decimals for the upper grades. It can be custom designed based on the math needs of your class. Since the Rounding Pocket Chart is a pictorial model, the visual learner can grasp what is actually occurring when you round a number. By having the students place the numbers into the correct rounding pocket, it becomes a hands-on activity for the kinesthetic learner. Many examples and illustrations are given in this five page download. Although the Rounding Pocket Chart requires construction by the teacher, it is a resource that will be used over and over again.
