My special education students seem to struggle a lot with rounding numbers. I created this material in hopes to further help them with the difficult task, as well as review place value.
How I used the material:
1. Provide each student with 1 copy
2. Work as a class allowing student volunteers to share their thoughts on place value at the start of the material, and labeling each place value on the SmartBoard
3. Read through the helpful hints for rounding as a class
4. Follow the "I do, we do, you do" model for the remainder
a) Model using the beginning examples as a demonstration having students follow along and do the same on their papers
b) Upon arriving at each rounding section, have a student volunteer share their answer and approach for the first question
c) Have students individually complete each section; as students finish each section review answers before moving on and again arriving at step "b"
