Practice rounding to the nearest 10s and 100s place with this dice game that mixes in strategic thinking and addition!
This is a dice game for partners, although it can be modified to be a single-person game or a three-person game. Students roll three dice to create a number that they then round to the nearest 10s or 100s place. Based on their rounding skills, students then earn points with each turn they take. After ten rounds, each student totals his or her points and the student with the most points wins!
"Teacher Tips" page inside advises the teacher on how to differentiate this game to fit the needs of many learners.
There are two versions of this game to suit your printing purposes: a color version and a black and white version.
Student direction cards and game boards are included.
I use this game as a math center.
I laminate the game boards and the student direction cards. Then I store them with different options for dice. Students write on the game boards with dry-erase markers so the game boards can be reused. When I want to assess student learning, I print out copies of the game boards for students to write on with pencil and turn in for assessment.
