This is a dry erase math center. Students use laminated task cards to round to the nearest ten. There are 3 sets of cards: set 1 has look to the neighbor arrows and underlined place value, set 2 has underlined place value, and set three is just the standard form number. Students look at the given number, round to the nearest ten and write the new number.
This center can be utilized for pairs and groups.
Pairs: Students work in pairs to complete each task card. Students look at the card and guess their answers to see if they are both correct. If they are not correct, then they must discuss what they did wrong with one another.
Groups: One person hold up a task card, while the rest of the group writes their answers on a separate sheet of paper. Once everyone has written down their answer, they check all the answers and help those who got it incorrect.
