Product Description
How do historians read and interpret maps?

Historians use maps to understand the past and to explain it to others. When historians look at a map they use some of the Social Studies Practices to read and interpret it.

This page goes through that 4-step process: Annotate, Contextualize, Source, and Close Read.

I have students cut this out and add it into their interactive notebooks for reference.
