Use this powerpoint to discuss the work of Roy Lichtenstein and then to also assess whether students can identify his work when among other famous or similar artists. I used this after having shown students prints and photos of Lichtenstein's work. I went through the slides and showed them each and discussed what made it recognizable as his work. Then at the end of our grading period they took the assessment by numbering a paper 1-10 and writing yes if the piece or art was done by Lichtenstein and no if it wasn't. Answers provided at the end of this description. Two slides even ask the student "why" it would be his work. When I didn't preview the slides the students had MUCH lower scores than if I did preview the slides at the beginning of the study. There were still many weeks in-between the preview and assessment since we studied one famous artist per trimester. Those slides that are NOT Roy's are 5, 6, 7 and 9.
