YOU NEED TO MAKE THE SHOOTERS - BUT IT IS VERY EASY!
All you need is square pieces of wood, screws and a drill gun. You can do it! Once built they last forever. Directions are included. Message me if you have any trouble.

What you get:
Each page is labeled with a code.
B is the basic experiment page. This is a cookie cutter experiment. Students follow the directions and answer the questions. This experiment page could be given to students who have great difficulty coming up with their own ideas at the end of IQA
IN is the intervention inquiry page. This page should be given to students who need an introduction before jumping into the experiment or inquiry pages.
IQA is a simple inquiry activity. This page leaves out the vocabulary and the focus is instead on investigation. Students are open to investigate any energy related topic with the materials and are not rigidly held to a design format.
IQB is a targeted inquiry. Students are given an information sheet and are asked to investigate the materials to find examples of the different types of energy. I am always surprised by what students see or interpret that I do not. Students are then asked to create an experiment, but they are limited by a independent variable of distance. Variables are identified, but students must choose materials and procedures.

Suggestions:
IQB is the goal for all students, but many of your students are not ready for this level. Pre-assess your students. The students who have a high level of understanding in this topic (Energy and specifically Elastic Potential Energy) should receive IQB. These students will often need 2 days to complete their experiments. This gives you time to offer focused instruction to the other students who need more small group attention.
