This powerpoint accompanies the "Rube Goldbergs Challenge Project". It has brief instructions about the Rube Goldberg's Challenge Project, LOTS of fun and funny Rube Goldberg's comics, LOTS of links to amazing Rube Goldberg's videos. It's concise and should be used as a way to engage students in to the project. It does not contain a lot of information about energy transfer, simple machines, the concepts behind Rube Goldberg's. It is a fun and challenging activity to engage students in the engineer-design process, collaboration, and problem-solving, while keeping them excited! I used the activity with 5th-7th graders. It could be connected with a simple machines and energy transfer unit.
