Rubrics for co-op groups can be powerful tools for guiding student learning because they apply the same, preset criteria to each group being assessed, and let the students know in advance what an effective co-op group should look like and how it should operate.
This four page resource contains two similar rubrics. The first rubric is designed for the teacher to use as a rating guide at the end of a group activity and includes four levels of group expectations. This rubric assumes that the students have pre-assigned specific group jobs and tasks. (A description for each group job is a part of the four page handout.) The second four point rubric is similar to the first, but on this one, no specific jobs are listed. Instead of the teacher deciding the overall rating, the students evaluate their own group.
The rubrics are NOT saved in a PDF format so that you can adapt or change them to meet the needs of your classroom.
