Ruby Bridges was the first African American child to attend an all-white elementary school in the South. Having led the country by example, at the young age of 6, Ruby Bridges is an excellent role model for students! This close reading passage and task cards are perfect to use during Black History Month or just for test prep! Review skills such as main idea and supporting details, cause and effect, context clues, author’s purpose, making inferences, figurative language, and sequence while learning about the life and legacy of Ruby Bridges.
