“Rudolph’s Reindeer Replacement” is a STEM lesson that integrates science, technology, engineering, math, and even some art (STEAM) with tons of Christmas holiday fun too! Children are challenged to solve a problem for Santa and create a new reindeer that meets specific criteria. Students will need to use critical thinking, problem solving, and cooperative learning strategies during this activity. We have included one-time prep or no prep materials for project visuals, writing, self-checking, reading, science, and more! Suggested consumable materials you need to supply for the reindeer creation include: toilet paper tubes, pipe cleaners, pompom balls, popsicle sticks, construction paper, and sticker or googly eyes. Children will also need access to scissors, glue, crayons, a hole punch, straws, and string. This engaging STEM experience will be a great addition to your Christmas-themed lesson plans and holiday classroom fun!
We hope you and your students enjoy this fun and educational STEM activity!
