Ruler of the Universe is an activity that allows students to utilize and apply their argument generation, argument interaction, and persuasive speaking skills. Student will have the opportunity to rule the universe for one minute. During their reign, students have five minutes to think critically about their world and come up with a one minute speech about a rule they want to institute. They will use critical thinking and persuasive speaking skills to attract their peers to their issue. After this, a second ruler will propose a second rule, and the rest of their peers will vote on who will remain Ruler of the Universe based on the proposed rules.
