Are you looking for great introductory units to begin your first grade year. This mini bundle is a combination of the two units I use in August. They are a part of my year long series, Guided Reading with a Purpose. The first week is RULES and ROUTINES with the focus reading strategies CHARACTERS and SETTINGS. The theme for the second week is FRIENDSHIP AND BUILDING CHARACTER with a focus reading strategies RETELLING. This bundle will provide a weekly focus theme and reading comprehension strategy for your whole group guided reading. It is designed for a first grade classroom but can be adapted either up or down. Each week will include daily lesson plans, posters, parent connect letter,original strategy songs, comprehension strategies,literacy connections, extension activities, sort activities, and crafts.
