A set of four poems covering "Rules," "Chronology and Time," "Spatial Relationships," and "Parents and Offspring." These poems are designed to be used with lessons as required in the Georgia Standards SSKCG1a and b: The student will demonstrate an understanding of good citizenship. a. Explain how rules are made and why. b. Explain why rules should be followed; SSKH3: The student will correctly use words and phrases related to chronology and time to explain how things change; MKM3b: Students will understand time as it relates to a daily schedule. b. Tell the time when daily events occur, such as morning, afternoon, and evening; MKG2a and b: Students will understand basic spatial relationships. a. Identify when an object is beside another object, above another object, or below another object. b. Identify when an object is in front of another object, behind another object, inside another object, or outside it; and SKL2: Students will compare the similarities and differences in groups of organisms.
They give the teacher a different way to approach a required subject that is designed to be simple enough for kindergarten and prekindergarten students, fun, and contain beneficial information.
