Celebrate Presidents' Day
and review those all-important and too-often-forgotten rules for using the comma. Ten rules are presented and explained with original examples from the life of President Abraham Lincoln.
This product reviews the use of the comma in writing,
• direct speech
• introductory prepositional phrases
• items in a series
• compound sentences with coordinating conjunctions
• complex sentences with subordinating conjunctions
• relative clauses
Gather some resources from your school's library and ask students to come up with their own examples to illustrate the rules.
