Run-On Run Down is a great worksheet to use in a middle school or high school classroom to help students identify and fix run-on sentences in their own writing. The baseball theme makes it relatable to boys and girls alike.
The worksheet can be used as:
*Practice in class
*As a way to earn points back on an essay
*Or in any other way that fits your classroom needs.
You can score this worksheet however you’d like, but I have scored it this way in my classroom.
Single: Rewrote sentence word-for-word but did not label the
sentence parts or correctly fix it.
Double: Rewrote sentence word-for-word and labeled the
sentence parts correctly, but DID NOT correctly fit it.
Triple: Rewrote sentence word-for-word, labeled sentence
parts, and attempted to correctly fixed run-on sentence (but it
was not correct).
Homerun: Rewrote sentence word-for-word, labeled sentence
parts, AND correctly rewrote and fixed sentence so that it is no
longer a run-on sentence.
