With this activity, students will mix around the room finding others who help them identify and correct run-on and fragment sentences.
The product includes two different worksheets: correcting run-on sentences and identifying run-on, fragment, and complete sentences. On the first worksheet, students have to read run-on sentences and circle the correct way to fix it or write a corrected version. On the second worksheet, students have to read sentences and circle whether they are run-on, fragment, or complete.
Additionally, we have created a second version of the activity we call Find Someone Who with a Twist. With this option, students are encouraged to answer a different question for each peer; thus, they will answer all of the questions on the worksheet. This option adds some rigor to this academic-based activity.
Instructions for using implementing the Find Someone Who activity and the new version in your class are also included. This Kagan structure is a wonderful, academic Brain Break for students of any age.
