These lessons are intended to last 10-15 minutes per day and function as your sight singing lesson.
This offering includes the full 27 lesson set of S-Cubed-Successful Sight Singing System for Middle School Teachers and their Students. By purchasing this bundle, you are committing to teaching your young beginners how to sight sing and so much more!
…and with purchasing the 27-lesson full bundle rather than individual lessons or five-lesson bundles, it is more economical as well! If you purchase each lesson separately.
When you finish teaching the full S-Cubed system, your students will be able to sight sing 2-part examples that include syncopated rhythms and difficult skips. …And the benefits are far greater than sight singing. After completing the process, you will be able to send your students off into groups to learn much of their music a cappella on their own because they will have a large number of tools in their tool belt to help them be independently successful.
The philosophical lessons we teach in the S-Cubed process are much greater than singing an eight measure two-part sight singing example a cappella in five minutes, and that is one of the biggest reasons the S-Cubed Sight Singing process is enormously rewarding for the teacher as well as the students. In this method, we get to engage our personalities as we teach our students this life-long useful singing tool while we enjoy watching our students learn much bigger life lessons they may not understand until much later in their young lives!
With the S-Cubed System and philosophy, your students will stop moaning when you teach your sight singing lessons! Most book methods are incomplete and skip too many steps in the teaching process for our young beginners to have success in learning to sight sing and few methods are aimed directly at Middle School students. This method is designed to improve the process of teaching sight singing so that it is a more enjoyable one for both the teacher and the students.
This bundle will take approximately 27 weeks to teach when you follow the recommendations if you see your students daily.
For your convenience, here is a list of major objectives of S-Cubed:
*Have fun while you are teaching! Engage your personality.
*Use gentle competition between you and your students to increase their motivation to succeed.
*Reward and acknowledge success each and every step of the way.
*Teach ALL of your students to sight sing…not just the students who take private instrument lessons.
*Use games and daily 10-15 minute processes to keep the process fun and effective while you continue to teach your concert music.
*Improve classroom management through the S-Cubed process. When they are successful, they look forward to coming to your class!
*S-Cubed is designed specifically for middle school teachers and their students. It is not a hybrid of a high school method. Let’s face it! These children have specific needs! S-Cubed addresses those needs.
It is designed and used by a real middle school teacher in a real middle school classroom with well over 20 years experience in the public school classroom…not an academic or someone with limited experience with this age group.
*In just months, your beginning students will be sight singing 2-part, eight-measure examples independently a cappella with just five minutes preparation time. Those examples will include difficult skips and syncopated rhythms. They will have learned it in the group setting in your classroom the S-Cubed way.
S-Cubed is a systematic, methodical, fun way to teach your young beginners how to Sight Sing successfully. Classroom management often improves as does the relationship between the teacher and the students through the philosophies and methods taught in S-Cubed. Teachers who have taken their students all the way through the entire 27 lesson system have taught their beginners how to independently and successfully sight sing in 2-parts with difficult syncopated rhythms and skips. Many of those teachers, including myself, accomplish that in 6 to 8 months depending on how often they see their students in just 10-15 minutes per day.
The procedures in this bundle follow the procedures laid out in the three free previews of S-Cubed. Please check out those freebies in my store to learn more before you purchase this bundle.
This method is absolutely intended to be cumulative in nature. Teachers should begin with Lesson 1 and implement each lesson progressively and regularly. It is recommended that you purchase all 27 lessons in order to achieve the best results.
S-Cubed is the 21st century to improve how you teach Sight Singing. Each power point lesson includes re-usable PDF files (Rhythmic exercises, sight singing examples, guides to the philosophical approach for success). Best of all, each lesson includes direct video links to numerous teaching tips and actual teaching examples for each specific lesson in order to help you see the method in action with real beginners. It is carefully progressive in sequence in a manner that encourages and increases the chances of success for your Upper Elementary and Middle School students each and every day. The daily success helps them to be more likely to enjoy the process of learning to Sight Sing and will also help you enjoy the teaching process. It’s like having your own personal sight singing coach. With S-Cubed, we gently use competition between the teacher and the students, and we celebrate success.
The method is developed by a real teacher in a real classroom. S-Cubed is like a teacher workshop that includes lesson plans and lesson guidance by a teacher who is using it in his classroom everyday. These are real materials that are used in my classroom daily. All of the materials can be used over and over again. You will not need to buy new books every few years.
S-Cubed is the perfect system to use in the Chorus or General Music Classroom with inexperienced students. They will love “beating the page”!
One successful step at a time…The S-Cubed way! Start with Lesson 1 today, and with consistent implementation, your young students will be Sight Singing a capella in two parts with difficult rhythms and steps/skips combined in a matter of months just like the students in the video links.
It’s real. It’s proven. It works.
