This resource is a lesson aimed at teaching Physics: Waves. In this lesson, students will learn about how we know about the structure of the Earth through S and P waves.
This lesson has 3 learning objectives that are structured in the IDEAL format:
*Describe the structure of the non observable parts of the Earth.
*Explain the structure of the Earth by using the properties of S and P waves.
*Apply calculations to data collected from S and P waves to explain how far away the epicentre of an earthquake is.
This lesson is designed to stretch your most able students, whilst supporting others throughout.
Review the lesson before teaching to see how the animations will work in your lesson.
