Saber and Conocer Personalized Questions for Spanish Class!

No Prep - Just PROJECT! This straightforward question and answer format aims to get our Spanish language students talking and communicating in the target language with personalized questions and sound COMPREHENSIBLE INPUT.

Aligns with REALIDADES 1 - 9B, REALIDADES 2 - 1B, and AVANCEMOS 1- Unit 6 Lesson 1 (6.1) and Descubre 1 Lección 6

It includes:

  • Suggestions for how to use this resource in SPANISH class
  • 20 personalized SABER questions for Spanish II and III: (to know facts; to know how to do something; to know if; to know that; to know + interrogative word)
  • 21 personalized CONOCER questions for Spanish II and III: (to know people; to know places; to know things; to meet a person for the first time)

Questions can be PROJECTED or printed. Works well as a "timbre" or warm up activity, or as a "Brain Break." I will often have my students stand up and engage in the questioning and answering with a partner or with other students in the class. (Sometimes I will have the students use the puppets or the STUFFED animals to converse - just to change things up a bit!)

ACTFL 5C's - Communication Std: 1.1 - "Students engage in CONVERSATIONS, provide and obtain information..."

Suggestions for how to use this resource and others like it en la clase de Español:

Partners--Students take turns asking each other the questions and answering in complete sentences.

Whole Class-As time allows, students volunteer or are called on to answer a specific question (in order) asked by the teacher, or any random question he or she is willing to answer, perhaps receiving participation “puntos.”

Teacher asks questions of students, in order or randomly.

Chain Drill-Teacher starts with asking a student (¡voluntario o víctima!) the first question and that student asks the next question and calls on another student.

Writing-Students write their answers to specific questions and share answers with a partner and/or turn in answers to teacher to further guide instruction or to receive feedback.

Oral Pair Share-Students volunteer an answer to a question based on their partner’s answer using the third person. Carlos sabe jugar el ajedrez. Rosita conoce el arte de Pablo Picasso.
