Easter Make & Take 2: Bunnies in Basket (Position Words)
This is a color-cut-glue activity for a little Easter fun!
For: Pre-K and Kindergarten in speech therapy, RTI, ESL/ELL, and learning centers
Targets: Comprehension of prepositions, including the following:
in front of, behind, on top of, under, in, out
1 Word Cube + 1 Picture Cube
1 Basket Cut Out
6 Picture Cut Outs
Preparing the Activity: Print all pages single-sided. Have crayons, scissors, and glue available. For very young children or to expedite the activity, prepare the Cubes and/or Baskets and Picture Cut-Outs beforehand.
How to Play: Review targeted prepositions with students. Then start by coloring and folding the Cubes with your students. Have students color and cut out the Picture Cut Outs and Baskets as well. I like to incorporate 1-2 step directions into these parts (e.g., “Color the frog green and the bunny pink”). Once everything is cut out and the baskets are constructed, students take turns rolling both cubes. Students build with their basket and picture cut-outs whatever is showing on the cubes (e.g., “The frog is behind the basket”).
