Inspired by the Out Of The Box game, Apples to Apples. Use your own vocabulary--Make a game for every unit--Practice vocabulary and/or grammar in a fun way using higher order thinking skills.
Students make comparisons, defend opinions and make decisions using the vocabulary of YOUR CURRENT LESSON! Easy to learn, and always fun to play!
This product is customizable, but comes with game cards using SAT vocabulary words ready to print.
These templates are designed to be printed on business card stock, so the cards are smaller than in the original game. I don't print mine in color--instead I use a marker to color the sides, top and bottom of the deck. I also like to color or decorate the backs of the cards BEFORE I separate them into individual cards so that I can make multiple decks, and easily put the inevitable card left on the floor after class back into the right set. Sometimes it is just a scribble, and I might have a deck with blue scribbles, another with red, and so on.
Enter your lists of vocabulary words and definitions on the Red List and Green List tabs. The Cards page is set up to print up to 200 Red and 200 Green cards -- I tried to offer more than most people would need! Go to the Cards tab and select the cards containing your words, and set the print area (Otherwise it will print all 400 cards).
These cards are not meant in any way to replace the fantastic game that inspired them. Out of the Box publishes blank card templates where you can insert your own words. Their templates are in full color, and are the same size as the regular cards in the original game so the cards you create will fit right in to the deck. Follow this link to order from them:
