Thanks for checking out my best selling literature unit!!!!!
Science Fiction is one of my favorite units to teach. It gives each of us a chance to ask, "What if?" This 99-page unit covers information about the history of science fiction as a genre, vocabulary to discuss science fiction, 10 science fiction stories w/resources, how to develop and write a science fiction story, and an extensive list of websites that could be helpful for more resources. The stories covered in the unit are:
"Rain Rain, Go Away" by Isaac Asimov
"The Veldt" by Ray Bradbury
"Of Missing Persons" by Jack Finney
"By the Waters of Babylon" by Stephen Vincent Benet
"There Will Come Soft Rains" by Ray Bradbury
"The Rocket" by Ray Bradbury
"Harrison Bergeron" by Kurt Vonnegut
"Sound of Thunder" by Ray Bradbury
"Face in the Photo" by Jack Finney
"If I Forget Thee, Oh Earth" by Arthur C. Clarke
There are keys provided for ALL assessments and for some question worksheets.
Best of luck with the unit. I hope the future brings you and your students great things. Feel free to ask questions any time.
This document was revised in June 2017. To improve on former formatting issues, I scanned in pages that had marginal comments and inserted them as images instead. If you have any difficulty reading any part of the document, please contact me and I will try to send you something clearer.
I checked and fixed any outdated links in the first 94 pages of the product. I am working on updating the Online Resources section in the near future.
