The Scientific Method is an important area of the science processes unit. This lesson includes a notebook insert, along with a header that has the "I can" statement written at the bottom. After reading a colorful 2-sided gazette about the scientific method and the difference between experiments and investigations, students will have an idea of how each step in the Scientific Method is used when wanting to conduct an experiment that provides accurate results. This set also includes a notebook foldable for the steps of the scientific method, along with a Dill Pickle Experiment that can be cut, sorted and glued into the proper step in the notebook foldable. I like to do this part together as a class. Finally, have students do the independent practice, Sprouting Corn (8.5 x 14), in a similar fashion.
