Product Description
Are your students memorizing the state names, capitals and abbreviations? Then SCOOP! States, Capitals, and Abbreviations Card Game is perfect for your classroom!

SCOOP! States, Capitals, and Abbreviations Card Game is a two - four player card game. It's a race to see who can identify the most state capitals, abbreviations, and names before another player gets the SCOOP!

This card game has 50 state name cards, 50 state capital cards, 50 state abbreviation cards, and 14 SCOOP! cards. Players take turns choosing cards. If a state name is chosen, the player names the capital or the two letter abbreviation for the state. If it is a capital card, s/he should name the state it goes with. If it is an abbreviation, s/he should name the state it stands for. If it is identified correctly, s/he keeps the card and the other player takes a turn. Watch out, though - if a player uncovers a SCOOP! card, s/he takes ALL of the other player's cards.

Also included are two answer key sheets and 3 choice boards of lists of possible answers to help students with word retrieval difficulties.

This game is great for centers, small groups, and RtI. Students will have fun while strengthening their social studies skills!

Options for Play: *Play with only one type of card. *Divide the deck up into regions. Place a different colored dot on the cards for each region. Play with only the cards in a specific region. *Use the cards to practice ABC order. *Match the cards to make sets for each state. *Play without the answer key or with the choice boards instead (the choice boards provide answer prompts for those with retrieval concerns)

I created many other SCOOP! games that focus on a variety of math and reading skills. My other SCOOP! sets can be found here.
