SCOOP! Upper (Capital) and Lower Case Letter Identification is a two - four player card game. It's a race to see who can identify the most letters before the other player gets the SCOOP!
This game sets contains two games - one for upper case letters and one for lower case letters. Each contains 26 letters and 4 SCOOP! cards, for a total of 60 cards. You can play this as two separate games or combine it based on your student needs. Players take turns choosing cards and reading the words. Watch out, though - if a player uncovers a SCOOP! card, s/he takes ALL of the other player's cards.
This game is great for assessment, centers, small groups, and RtI. Another option to identifying the letters is to have students make the sound each letter represents. This game corresponds to Task 1 on the Quick Phonics Screener.
I created this version of the game because my second graders begged for a version their preschool and kindergarten siblings could play (and feedback is the siblings LOVE it!). My other SCOOP! sets include VC words, magic e, blends, digraphs, diphthongs, r controlled vowels, two syllable words, three syllable words, four syllable words, prefixes and suffixes, and Dolch words.
Thank you for looking! :)
