This short rhyme will have students on their toes, literally and figuratively. Here is what you will get:
*5 pages of fun
*GRAPHICS: The pages are full of needles and thread, as Granny is stitchin' in the kitchen. The beats are shown in red thread.
*RHYTHM: This is really a practice piece for tim-ka. The rhythms are interactive. Tap the review prepare rhythm and it will light up as it produces a sewing machine sound. Tap the incorrect match for the rhythm and it says "noooooo". The practice tim-ka rhythm behaves in the same manner.
INSTRUMENTS: There is no melody to the rhyme, but there are pitches in the xylophone part. Explore tone clusters as Granny is a little wobbly on the beat.
GAME: This is a double ring game. The hand clap is an 8 beat clap that repeats, except on the last beat, the inside circle throws their hands in the air and moves clockwise to a new partner, as the old one jumps up in the air on "BOO"!
The fun will go on for a very long time with this short little ditty. Enjoy!
