I was asked to create a digital version of this sentence writing activity.

What is predictable sentence writing?

Predictable sentence writing provides a model sentence for students to follow and complete.

How does predictable sentence writing benefit young writers?

• Strengthens students' concepts about print.
• It allows students an opportunity to practice reading and word identification skills.
• Students are able to practice grammar skills.
• Students are able to focus on letter formation and handwriting skills.
• Students are able to see themselves as a writer.

When would I use predictable sentence writing in my classroom?

This activity is perfect for distance learning, however, you can also use this sentence writing practice in your classroom. I used the predictable sentence writing activities as a student center.

What grades will this work for?

I have included 3 levels:

• Level 1: Students add 1 noun to the sentence.
• Level 2: Students add 1 adjective and 1 noun to the sentence.
• Level 3: Students add 2 adjectives and 1 noun to the sentence. Students then select the appropriate punctuation.

These activities are differentiated and would work well in Kindergarten and First Grade. These would also work nicely as an intervention for Second Grade Students.
